Job Summary
The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for overseeing the inventory and availability of tools and equipment within the tool crib. Key duties include receiving, storing, and issuing tools and materials to employees, ensuring all items are accurately accounted for and have current calibration. The attendant will perform regular inventory checks, restock supplies as needed, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication are essential to maintaining a safe and efficient tool crib operation. The role also involves collaboration with various departments to support operational needs and enhance overall productivity.
This position is 100% on-site, and no relocation expenses are provided.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records of tools, equipment, and supplies, including dry ice, and perform regular audits.
- Issue tools to employees upon request, ensuring proper documentation, and verify that returned tools are in good condition.
- Order and deliver necessary supplies and address any reports of tool damage or loss.
- Regularly collect tools from workflows, conduct inspections for wear and tears, and maintain logs of tool check-outs and returns.
- Update the database with tool movement and report any issues found during inspections.
- Confirm that tools are within calibration timelines for issuance to the production floor.
- Keep the tool crib organized and clean for efficient tool retrieval and storage.
- Work closely with other departments to coordinate tool pickup/delivery.
- Communicate any supply shortages or tool availability issues to management.
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking and tool maintenance by applying strong organizational skills and attention to detail, while adhering to safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members, providing clear verbal and written updates and reports, and assisting with various tasks as needed.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods, while working collaboratively within the team.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen.
- High School diploma or equivalent, along with previous experience in inventory management, tools, or warehouse operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of eQuip and/or SAP.
- Previous experience of operating or manning a tool crib.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and protocols for handling tools and equipment.
