The Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team is in search of a
Chief System Architect Learn more about the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) using this link As the Chief System Architect, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating the architecture and CONOPS baselines for the NGI all up round. This includes electrical, data, and operational interfaces with the ground system as well as between subsystems. You will also oversee a team of systems engineers each working an aspect of the system architecture. Additionally, you’ll interface with the customer regularly and brief the aspects of the system architecture at major reviews (e.g. CDR).
Responsible for:
• Maintaining the technical architecture baseline
• Supporting the integration of the interceptor components
• Driving interceptor integration with external ground system interfaces
• Directing development of the system architecture model in Cameo, including guiding Government Customer stakeholders on what should and should not be captured in the model
• Interfacing with the Customer and program leadership on key technical decisions affecting the architecture

• Expert level at multiple Systems Engineering functions, to include:
a) System Architecture development of complex systems and CONOPS development
b) System Trade studies and/or System modeling
c) Requirements and Interface Control Document (ICD) development
d) System Integration, Test and/or Verification
e) Design reviews, milestone reviews such as SRR, CDR and PDR
f) Demonstrated understanding of the full lifecycle management of a complex system
• Experience with UML, SysML, or UAFML and associated modeling tools, e.g., Cameo
• Ability and willingness to obtain Lockheed Martin Systems Architect Certification within 12 months of starting in the role
• Active or Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills:• Experience working with MDA and MDA weapon systems
• Experience with ground system to effector/interceptor interfaces
• Experience with Cameo and setting strategy on how to use it for a digital program
• Familiarity with Agile development, cloud-based architecture
• Familiarity with requirements management tools, e.g., DOORS
• Experience architecting software for efficient performance in hardware constrained systems
• Experience interfacing with customers and internal stakeholders communicating the capabilities of the systems, and identify risks and mitigation plans

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $157,800 - $278,185. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
