The Defense and Technology Solutions (DTS) Senior People Director will serve as an integral member of the business unit’s senior leadership team. In line with the overall company strategy, this individual will work with leadership to lead the people strategy for DTS which is a growing $2B revenue business with approximately 7,000 employees across the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.
The Senior People Director will be a strategic advisor and business partner to the SVP of DTS as well as other BU VPs and leaders. They will be expected to navigate, interact, and effectively communicate at all levels of the organization. It is essential that the successful candidate possess the interpersonal leadership capabilities to influence at the senior level of the company as well as foster an overall environment that supports people development, respect, integrity, innovation, quality, business excellence, superior performance, and a sense of urgency.
This role leads all aspects of the People strategy and initiatives to achieve this dynamic business unit’s financial, operational and employee objectives including but limited to Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement and Retention, Talent Development and Management, New Business and Proposal Support, Recognition and Rewards, People Analytics, Leadership Coaching and Guidance, Cross-Functional Collaboration and support of Mergers and Acquisitions.
The Defense and Technology Solutions Senior People Director provides leadership and development of a highly effective People team providing innovative Systems, Processes, and Communications in support of leaders and employees.
Key Qualifications:
The Senior People Director will be a strategic thinker and an effective People leader with experience building talent capabilities and innovative solutions to support growth. They will be a hands-on leader with deep business acumen, analytical skills, strategic insight, and sound judgment. They will have clearly proven themselves to be a critical contributing member of a senior management team and make contributions viewed to be of value to the company.
Specifically, they will also have:
Multifunctional People leadership experience for a large company or company division
Solid Strategic People background and capable of managing multiple areas, including experience across talent acquisition, learning and development, organization effectiveness/development, succession planning, performance management, compensation, employee relations/culture, etc.
Experience in government contracting as well as experience and/or knowledge of broader Energy markets and Consultancy.
Solid People leadership experience with a track record of partnering closely and effectively with senior executive leaders. This includes demonstrated success building, leading, and managing a People team, with an emphasis on development.
Experience serving as a confidante to multiple business leaders across all facets of human capital and business strategy. Must be willing to challenge point-of-views when necessary and offer alternative, constructive suggestions.
Demonstrated ability to turn complex trending data into meaningful executive decision-making, and workforce planning tools in support of large government services contracts.
While the successful candidate will be strategic, it is critically important that this executive also be a hands-on leader able to handle tactical business needs and understand financial impacts of talent on the business.
Strong executive presence and proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, including strong facilitation experience.
A strong reputation for building, developing, and leading a respected and business-oriented People team. Proven ability to get the most out of direct and indirect reports through influence and leadership. Decisive leader who sets high standards and drives performance; able to motivate, inspire, engage and develop a People organization to achieve results.

Ability to recruit, mentor and develop the next generation of leadership. In addition, this executive will be positive, driven, and energetic; able to roll-up their sleeves to get the job done in a lean environment. Flexibility to travel to multiple locations in the United States as well as the UK and Australia
This Senior People Director will have an ability to manage complexity and ambiguity and lead the business unit through it. They will be a thought leader with an ability to develop, articulate, and execute a clear pragmatic strategy.
