Leidos’ Defense Systems Land Systems Sector is seeking an entry-level software engineer to join our collaborative matrix organization that supports multiple programs across various business areas in Leidos Defense & Land Systems. As an entry-level software engineer, you will contribute to software development efforts, working alongside experienced engineers to build, test, and maintain software solutions for desktop applications, web-based applications, and mission-critical software solutions for Space and Missile Defense programs.

Primary Responsibilities
Work on state-of-the-art applications that support national security
Gain hands-on experience with cloud computing, AI, and high-performance computing
Assist in the design, development, and testing of software for desktop applications, web-based applications, and mission-critical software solutions for Space and Missile Defense programs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and ensure successful project execution.
Debug and troubleshoot software issues in both development and production environments.
Contribute to software documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and test reports.
Learn and apply industry best practices in software development, including version control, code reviews, and unit testing.
Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance technical skills.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, with less than 2 years of professional experience.
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., C, C++, Python, Java, C#).
Familiarity with software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
Understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive team culture.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with developing desktop applications, web-based applications, or other software solutions.
Proficiency in C# and Dotnet.
Familiarity with software architectures for cloud computing, or distributed systems.
Knowledge of software version control systems such as Git.
Exposure to software testing and debugging tools.
Internship or project experience in software engineering, particularly in defense, aerospace, or government-related applications.

Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
