Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is looking for a Phantom Works Multi-Program Chief Engineer to join our team in Phantom Works located in Berkeley, MO.
This position is the Chief Engineer for multiple proprietary Phantom Works Prototype & Test Fixed Wing programs. This position will report to the Phantom Works Division Chief Engineer and the Phantom Works Prototype & Test Fixed Wing Program Manager. In this role the successful candidate will be the lead technical authority for these programs, acting as the programs' deputy program manager. The Chief Engineer will lead other engineering managers and team leads for all technical aspects of the program.
This position is the main technical interface with the various customers, assuring that the customers is up to date with the latest information on modifications, potential modifications and any issues that may arise. In this position the successful candidate will serve at the technical advisor on all program Risk, Issues and Opportunities (RIO).
This position assures that engineering manpower needs for prototyping and test programs are being addressed through the various Phantom Work capabilities and work scope is coordinate across multiple teams; from System Engineering requirement, Engineering Definition, Supplier Management and Procurement, Production Engineering, to the Foreman and the mechanics on the shop floor.
There will also be several boards this position chairs to assure meeting quality and safety; Safety Review Board- driving safety and quality throughout the program as part of the Safety Management System (SMS), Airworthiness Board- assuring that all program requirements are met with the highest level of quality and safety, Configuration Control Board- authorizing engineering work to be performed that is coordinated across the program, assuring configuration control throughout the life cycle of the test articles, Technical Manual Review Board- assuring that technical publications are kept up to date and that safety and quality are at the forefront of everything that is directed to be performed in the tech manuals.
Position Responsibilities:
Conducting Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) as required to assure that major issues are addressed at the root cause
Communicate verbally, visually, and in writing with customers to demonstrate effective application of the Boeing RCCA process
Utilizing Earned Value Management system, first in laying out plans and then in assessing projects performance and the overall health of the programs
Identify manpower needs and challenges and successfully negotiate solutions with various stakeholders
Driving safety and first-time quality into the tech manual release process.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
15+ years of work experience in the aerospace industry
10+ years of work experience with Military Standards 516 and 810 certification and qualification criteria
10+ years’ experience in working with classified technologies and programs.
10+ years of experience in a Special Access Program environment.
10+ years of work experience in a supervisory or leadership role

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Berkeley, MO: $178,500 - $241,500
