As a Stress Analyst you will be responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level stress analysis of spacecraft flight structures and mechanisms, electronic components, and ground and test support equipment using standardized processes and tools. You will review and coordinate stress analysis and actively support knowledge transfer.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Generating stress analysis technical memorandums and reports to support data packages, peer reviews, and external customer reviews
• Preparing technical charts and represent the organization in design reviews and outside contracts
• Supporting static structural test definition, requirements, monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis while understanding and incorporating other applicable mechanical (thermal, dynamic, materials, etc…) and system level requirements/parameters into the stress analyses
• Supporting development of weight-optimized, compliant flightworthy components and structural assemblies which satisfy the contractual design criteria as well as any producibility requirements defined by Manufacturing and Quality Engineering
Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience with NX/NASTRAN or FEMAP finite element
modeling or equivalent
• Ability to apply new and advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform structural analysis
• Knowledge of and applicable experience with spacecraft or aircraft structural analysis methods, including classical hand calculations and experience with mechanical joints
Desired Skills:• Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment
• Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently
• Non-linear, fracture& fatigue, and buckling analysis experience
• Mechanisms, antenna, electronic component, ground support, hoisting, and test support equipment, and composite materials analysis experience
• Experience with Abaqus, Matlab, Mathcad and CREO
• Static, vibration, acoustic, modal, shock test experience of aerospace flight hardware

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
