The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support Flight test in Tukwila, WA. A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. The Flight test Manufacturing Engineer is an assembly and installation engineer within Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) that supports installation planning by providing design review, manufacturing plan authorship, fabrication sourcing (inside and outside of Boeing), interface with procurement (including tracking), and supports during the build/installation.
The primary focus of this position is to lead, manage and support flight test design & planning efforts located in Tukwila, WA. These efforts represent a wide variety of research and production programs primary in support of Boeing Commercial airplanes (BCA)
Manufacturing Engineers (ME’s) are owners of the build plan and ensure compliance to design configuration and process requirements, Manufacturing Engineering performs Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis and develops an integrated build plan consisting of work instructions for assembly/fabrication, kitting, tooling, inspection requirements, and other outputs to endure fabrication meets design, test, and program requirements.
BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate or Experienced level Manufacturing Engineers.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Participate on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines
- Develop and document BT&E ME process and tools for Flight test programs, new job practices, techniques and standards
- Develop, implement and maintain various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration
- Develop and plan manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives
- Prepare build analyses and cost estimate reports
- Lead integration of complex suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements
- Lead teams performing producibility assessments of design concepts
- Manage the program work statement making sure it meets the cost and schedules
- Lead development of complex work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments
- Lead and work with test Project Management, Design Engineering, and Program IE to develop and maintain integrated build plan
- Provide build plan and help develop schedule
- Close coordination with Design engineers and fabrication personnel, Lead coordination with procurement/supplier management personnel across the Flight test team
- Draft, update and review processes and procedures to support business requirements
- Work under minimal direction
- Collaborate with Supplier Management to establish Lab test integration requirements and opportunities
- Lead the creation of training material and tutorials for Design Build ME team
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment in any of the following areas: work instruction creation and review, product architecture analysis, shipside planning experience or tooling development
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ years of experience with engineering drawings review for manufacturing producibility

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for associate level: $80,750 – $109,250
Summary pay range for experienced level: $96,050 – $129,950
