Summary:
The Material Handler position will be responsible for issuing material to the jobs, conducting cycle counts, ensuring inventory location accuracy, and putting material in the correct inventory locations. The candidate will also be responsible for the saw operations for all business units within the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining inventory accuracy and inventory locations.
- Reporting inventory issues, cycle count findings, and root cause.
- Operation of the saws to cut various materials for all business units within the facility.
- Preparing materials for outside process while working with the Planner to ensure correct count and material
- Confirm items to be shipped for outside processes for accuracy against the job orders and purchase orders, tag with part number and description, and print required paperwork.
- Participate in company Lean 5S initiatives.
- Always keep the work area neat and clean.
- Participate in annual physical inventory.
Minimum required qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to measure parts using a tape measure.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
- Must be in good physical condition to be able to remain on their feet for an extended period of time.
- Required to operate a forklift.
- Required to use overhead cranes to handle materials.
The ideal candidate possesses the following experience, skills, and abilities:
- Clear communication, both oral and written
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Organization skills; keep area clean to 5S standards
- Inventory control experience, such as transacting material movements in an ERP system, cycle counts or physical inventory.
- Mental/Visual/Physical Effort:
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds routinely.
- Have strength and stamina to be on your feet and lift materials throughout the day.
