Description:As a System Safety Engineer, you’ll be ensuring our products are safe for the warfighter. System Safety Engineering job duties include: Analysis and recommendation of safety criteria in system design; Hazard analysis and development of procedures to control or eliminate hazards; Software safety assessments; Hazardous material management planning and execution; Development of safety documentation; Support to operational testing and test range requirements; and participation in design reviews, customer briefings, and system safety review boards.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must be pursuing a bachelors degree in a related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university (electrical, mechanical, industrial degrees preferred).
Desired Skills:
Experienced with Microsoft Office (POWERPOINT, ACCESS, WORD, EXCEL).
Candidate should be a self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with minimal oversight
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships are a must.
Additionally, candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office applications including a high level of proficiency with Excel
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
