We are a community of engineers looking for a dependable and experienced project engineer to join our tight-knit group. The Mechanical Controls group is an organization within FBM that is responsible for the design and production support of the systems that control the missile both before and after boost. This position is for a Project Engineer in the Boost Control System (BCS) IPT that collaborates well in a team environment, excels as an individual contributor, and has excellent communication skills. In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the BCS IPT with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers, with many opportunities for career development along the way. The BCS IPT is responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of the Thrust Vector Control (TVC) system and the Aerospike system which are systems that help control the flight of the missile in the boost phase of flight.
As part of our team, you will be involved with all aspects of the BCS IPT and assist with driving multiple ongoing high priority projects to closure. We are currently in active production for several components and are in active sustainment. You will help balance the cost, technical, and schedule elements of all ongoing projects and will support the IPT manager in ensuring project, product, and IPT success. You will also support annual proposals, statements of work, and basis of estimate generation to estimate and gain funding for the scope of work required for these projects. Additionally, you will be expected to work closely with our U.S. Government customer and with our FBM suppliers to maintain a healthy, dynamic, and productive relationship between all parties.
AS A VALUED MEMBER OF OUR TEAM YOU WILL:
• Coordinate planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects for the Thrust Vector Control (TVC) team.
• Plan and formulate engineering projects
• Work closely with program leadership in defining and driving project roadmaps.
• Develop timely resolution plans of issues and ensure the validity of designs, compliance evidence, and all associated documentation
• Resolve systems engineering and program execution issues quickly to support leadership needs
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Material Science Engineering or a related degree from an accredited university or college
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office
-Any combination of exposure to: engineering project management, propulsion rocketry, aerodynamics, or fluids
-Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access
Desired Skills:- Missile and/or aerospace and/or technical government related education or experience
- Experience with FBM processes and products
- Experience with government contracting, funding, and proposal cycles
- Experience with aerospace manufacturing
- Experience as a principal engineer delegate or project lead

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $57,500 - $101,430. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
