About the Role
As a Systems Administrator at IALR, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the organization’s computer systems and servers. You will collaborate with IT professionals and end-users to ensure systems run smoothly, securely, and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the IT department.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• System Administration: Oversee the operation and maintenance of computer systems and servers, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Active Directory Management: Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, KMS, Group Policy, and Certificate Services to support organizational needs.
• Cloud and Productivity Tools: Manage and support Azure, Microsoft 365, and Intune environments to enhance productivity and collaboration.
• Email Administration: Serve as the primary administrator for the email communication path, including the secure email gateway.
• Network Services: Maintain a strong understanding of network protocols and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, and LDAP.
• Scripting and Automation: Utilize scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell and Python, to improve system efficiency and processes.
• Virtualization Technologies: Implement and manage virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Nutanix, Horizon or Hyper-V, to optimize resource utilization for the development of the VDI desktops.
• Implement and Maintain Robust Security Measures: To protect the organization's IT infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Problem Resolution: Apply excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT team members and end-users to provide support and ensure systems meet organizational requirements.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures.

We are looking for staff to work onsite in Danville, VA.
