Job Description
U.S. Bank Global Corporate Trust Services is one of the largest providers of corporate trust services in the world. Our clients look to us for trustee, agency, escrow, document custody and money market issuing services via our 48 domestic offices and three international offices.
We are currently hiring into our market leading European CLO business and into the Relationship Management team.
The purpose of the role is to own and manage a portfolio of client relationships within the European CLO function and to be responsible for providing a high level of client service and to act as the escalation point for key client relationships. The relationship manager will also work closely with Sales and Strategy partners to develop new revenue opportunities, or enhanced services.
External
- Primary GCT business contact and escalation point for assigned client relationship
- Responsible for providing a high level of client service and overall client satisfaction
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of client’s organisation (client structure and contacts - key stakeholders, decision makers, and influencers)
- Understand your clients’ needs and be able to speak confidently about GCT products and how they may fit with the client’s needs
- Grow revenue for retentive clients; responsible for retentive deal issuance & cross selling opportunities collaborating within Corporate Trust and the wider US Bank network (broadening the service scope and fostering a more coordinated service offering where applicable)
- Work with sales to Issue fee quote for new business relating to your client portfolio
- Manage complex client relationships, where clients have multi products with US Bank across US and Europe
Internal
- Work closely with Sales and Strategy partners to develop new revenue opportunities, or enhanced services & communicate this to the wider team
- Strong internal network, collaboration and relationship building skills to ensure high quality service experience for GCT clients
- Complete and timely communication with the service team on any new deal closing, with responsibility for the following areas:
- any operational issues are identified/considered and communicated out to client
- closing documents and information is circulated to the relevant parties
- any deal team calls needed are being scheduled to resolve issues or address pertinent queries
- Proactively engage across the business; Deal Administration, Analytics, Custody, Document Review, DMC, and on DMR/ Pipeline ensuring everything information is updated in a timely and accurate manner
- Proactively develops and monitors relationships and oversees/coordinates remedial actions to resolve service issues
- Maintain and deliver account plans for each client starting with clients RAG rated ‘Amber’ detailing the following:
- KPI’s,
- Service model/team, turnover within team
- Operational nuisances & efficiencies,
- Key decisions makers/influencers,
- Service RAG status
- Action points to be discussed at next monthly service call

Qualifications and Experience
- 3-5 years direct CLO experience within a Capital markets / Corporate trust environment.
- Strong internal networking and relationship management / building skills to ensure a high quality service experience for GCT clients.
- Comprehensive trust administration knowledge blended with sales or client service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to include both written and verbal communications.
- Extensive knowledge of capital markets / CLO documentation.
- Problem solver who works to overcome obstacles that may prevent the business line from reaching its goals.
- Appropriately identifies and manage risks, in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and with Company Policy.
- Maintain high ethical standards, acting with honesty and integrity.
