Third-Party Operations Engagement Management: Partners with a wide range of business leaders (e.g., ERM, Finance, P&C Operations, NF Operations, Technology, 3rd party vendors) in identifying and assessing risks, evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls, and identifying opportunities to enhance quality and efficiency in business processes. Partners with management and the 2nd line risk functions to evaluate and advise on management oversight (e.g., KPIs, KRIs, reporting, SOC1/2 evaluations). Ideates on assurance and advisory plans for these operational models and executes a multi-year, risk-based internal audit strategy, including risk assessments, operational risk analysis, control procedures and client communications. Actively seeks out opportunities to add governance, risk and control value by providing management with insights, foresights and thought leadership to assist in driving efficiency and change throughout the enterprise.
Corporate Development Engagement Management: Partners with a wide range of business leaders (e.g., ERM, Finance, P&C Operations, NF Operations, Technology, 3rd party vendors) in identifying and assessing risks, evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls, and identifying opportunities to enhance quality and efficiency in business processes. Partners with the Integration Management Office, as well as local operational areas and 1st and 2nd line risk management functions to advise on integration governance, day 1 readiness activities, the maturity of operational processes and the ultimate independent operations. Partners with management and the 2nd line risk functions to evaluate and advise on management oversight (e.g., KPIs, KRIs, reporting, SOC1/2 evaluations).
Risk Partner Reliance Program: Oversees the reliance program management, in partnership with leaders across Audit, to enhance coverage beyond the internal audit plan, avoid duplication of efforts across risk partners and avoid audit fatigue, and leverage specialized skill sets.
Digital Enablement: Drives continued momentum on enabling engagements and office management with a digital enablement mindset. Including enabling the team and the broader office to leverage established digital tool sets (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, RPA tools) and emerging tool sets (e.g., Generative AI, Process Mining, Data acquisition/prep tools), all while starting with a continuous improvement mindset.
Management/Leadership: Establishes functional area vision, strategy and objectives and leads a team of highly technical audit professionals. Oversees associate management including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow, and organizational planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships:Reports to SVP, Internal Audit. Leads a team of 4-8 direct reports, with additional oversight of cross-functional resources across the IA Office.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduatedegree in business, finance, accounting or related field. Graduate degree preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Preferred certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor(CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or other similar certifications.
Experience: Typically, ten or more years of progressive experience in internal audit, risk management, accounting, finance, fraud, technology, and other control-related careers experience including at least five years in a management or leadership role. Significant insurance, financial services and/or operational experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Proven ability to independently assess new and/or changing risks, strategically design appropriate audit procedures, synthesize high volumes of disparate information, and deliver impactful insights across a cross‐functional network. Committed to developing and expanding knowledge of the audit profession, third party operations, fraud, project auditing, regulatory, industry, and company through self-study, educational forums and research. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on organizational sensitivity. Strong relationship skills, with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with executive leaders.
