Mid-Level Software Engineer
Program Summary
We are looking for a Mid Level Software Engineer to support our JSTATS and ATOM programs. JSTATS is an existing highly mobile SATCOM system designed for range and training operations that is being modified to expand its mission capabilities and update the UI to a modern architecture that is built in conjunction with end user feedback. ATOM is highly flexible Software Defined Radio (SDR) architecture capable of being deployed in a System of Systems (SoS) approach that requires a highly modular UI that is built to scale with the system while providing a user experience that minimizes training needs while maximizing operator awareness of the system.
Job Summary
As a software engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing user interfaces to control SATCOM systems utilizing software defined radios (SDRs). You will collaborate with the end users and internal teams to design and implement a highly efficient and user friendly interface using the ASTRO UX Design System. A key aspect of your role will involve taking input directly from the users and creating a UI design within the ASTRO UX parameters that complies with the existing back-end interfaces as well as identifying backend functions that need to be updated or rewritten. Your work will support our Organization’s goals of matching highly efficient user’s interactions with our existing highly flexible SDR architecture.
Roles and Responsibilities
Build and maintain a solid foundation of HTML, CSS, and JS knowledge to deliver industry standard functionality.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to design and implement UIs.
Work across multiple technology frameworks such as React and Angular, to support a broad range of applications.
Stay current with UI design architectures and industry best practices to recommend innovative solutions.
Lead development of wireframes based on end user and internal team collaboration.
Design and develop UI pages in compliance with wireframes, UXDS, and APIs
Collaborate with teams using version control systems like GitLab.
Write documentation for end-user manual.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
2 years of experience minimum in software development
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in full stack web development: user interface, messaging services, database integration, backend services, etc.
Experience with web development technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript, Typescript etc.
Experience in React, Angular, or similar web development frameworks
Experience in at least two programming languages such as: C/C++, Python, Java, C#, Rust, etc.
Experience with database design and implementation: MongoDB, ProstgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.
Experience with messaging services: ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, etc.
Experience with containerization: Docker, Docker Compose, Virtual Machines, etc.
Experience with Linux: Ubuntu, Redhat, etc.
Experience with software defined radios (SDRs)
Experience with digital signal processing
Salary Range: $89,985-$135,030
The salary range posted is for Colorado Springs, CO. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
