The Lockheed Martin Mk21A team is seeking a strong Systems Engineer to grow into the area of Nuclear Surety/Safety.
As a Systems Engineer , you will:
• Follow technical guidance and interpretation of applicability of nuclear and system safety requirements to program-unique designs to LM team members, customer personnel, and safety approval authorities.
• Apply DoD requirements and industry standards (AFMAN's, AFI-series, MIL-STD's, IEEE, Range Safety and more) applicable to the design and evaluation
• Apply analysis techniques to assist developing comprehensive safety reports and regulatory compliance data packages needed to facilitate approval for system deployment / delivery
• Present to customer, management, and safety oversight authorities the results of technical analyses and design solutions
• Ensure the logical and detailed conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Use your excellent communication skills to work across the Lockheed Martin organization and customer/user community to ensure consensus and understanding of solutions
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience in Systems Engineering, or related technical field experience with knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts and processes
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple engineering field to identify technical product characteristics to develop requirements specifications
• Experience in system safety / nuclear safety engineering on US Air Force (USAF) or Navy Nuclear Weapons Programs and compliance strategies that integrate with DoD requirements related to Program Protection, Supply Chain Risk Management, and/or Cybersecurity
• Technical writing skills and experience
Desired Skills:
• Experience collaborating with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/ Department of Energy (DOE) National Labs on USAF Nuclear Weapons Programs
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Participating in Systems Engineering reviews
(SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, synergetic team
environment
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker;
selects and applies appropriate systems thinking
skills to solve very complex problems and
implement constructive changes
• Missile or space segment design and test
experience with one or more subsystems or
disciplines outside of Systems Engineering

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
