The Lead Systems Engineer position supports the DRSERP Program within Advanced Strategic Programs in Valley Forge. Responsibilities include technical direction, planning, and execution. This position will also support management of System Engineering resources for the DRSERP Program and related proposal support, as required. Standard System Engineering responsibilities will include oversight and guidance of a Systems Engineering team to include full System Engineering life cycle processes, from architecture and requirements development through weapons system operations and sustainment with an increased focus on specialty engineering disciplines and model-based digital engineering processes. The Lead Systems Engineer will work closely with program managers and chief engineers to identify organizational staffing, develop technical/cost proposals, drive affordability, oversee system development and verification/validation, and coordinate program technical activities.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Be accountable to the DRSERP Program for systems integration and implementation of the systems engineering process.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for all systems engineering interface with the customer, external partners, program managers and other disciplines.
- Perform technical leadership for personnel within the Systems and Specialty engineering team.
- Approve and track program engineering plans.
- Ensure that Specialty Engineering plans, processes, and requirements are addressed within the program (e.g., EMI/EMC, reliability, cybersecurity).
- Tailor the standard processes, methods, tools, and metrics as required for the program.
This role is contingent upon award estimated for June 2025.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience with systems engineering practices related to ground support equipment
- Demonstrated proficiency indicating a comprehensive understanding of relevant Systems Engineering functions, responsibilities and technical domain.
- Extensive knowledge and application of the system engineering process, including model based systems engineering, risk management, system architecture, requirement development, requirements verification and validation, subsystem and system integration, mission operations, and/or baseline control.
- Technical leadership, including a demonstrated capability to lead a systems, subsystems and/or specialty engineering team.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamwork with peers, superiors, subordinates, and customers.
- Ability to accept responsibility, exercise authority, and be held accountable for the assigned system demonstrated through previous on-time, on-budget delivery meeting technical requirements.
Desired Skills:
- Proficiency with Model Based Engineering (MBE) processes/principles/tools and Digital Transformation methodologies to enable application of these approaches across the organization as applicable.
- Broad experience of the Systems Engineering life Cycle process and tools.
- Demonstrated ability as a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with team members.
- Technical leadership experience interfacing with major subcontractors.
- Experience with development, test, and qualification for ICBM and/or Strategic Missile System electrical support equipment

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
