Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from a LinkedIn office on select days and from home, as determined by the business needs of the team.

This role will be based in San Francisco or Mountain View, CA.

We’re looking for a globally-minded strategic leader to craft world-class employee communications at LinkedIn. This role will partner with our Chief People Officer and Talent organization to develop company-wide employee communications that drive clarity, connection, and a sense of purpose. You will also be a strategic thought partner to executives across the company, developing and delivering high-stakes employee communications.

The ideal candidate brings public company knowledge and expertise in crafting compelling employee communications to global audiences at scale, no matter the topic. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity and demonstrate an ability to experiment and develop adaptable approaches. You’ll also be highly skilled in leading effective change communications, organizational-wide communications, and building for scale. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about using communications to engage and inspire employees, amplify our culture, and support business growth.

In this role, you will lead a high-impact team that supports communications for evolving and critical needs across our company. You will also oversee our internal trust communications strategies and issues management, working closely with cross-functional partners including Legal, Policy, and Workplace. Reporting to the Vice President of Employee Communications, you’ll support developing a best-in-class employee communications team, setting long-term organizational strategy, and helping shape LinkedIn’s growth.

Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted thought partner to the Chief People Officer and the organization’s senior leaders, advising on the right forum, timing, and content of communications to ensure employees are informed, inspired, and empowered to help LinkedIn succeed.
  • Drive communications to LinkedIn’s global employees about all Talent-related initiatives including benefits, talent development, performance management, employee experience, DIBs, and hiring.
  • Manage the global Talent organization’s strategic calendar to ensure effective coordination so that employees receive the right information at the right time through the right channels.
  • Provide expert communications counsel to internal stakeholders, including Talent, Legal, and Policy executive teams to support change management, talent initiatives, and employee engagement programs.
  • Oversee internal response strategies for issues and crises, providing clear communications to employees as required.
  • Creatively use different communication formats such as live events, videos, emails to inform and inspire employees.
  • Evaluate the impact of internal communications and use insights to optimize and evolve strategies.
  • Lead complex, large-scale change communications initiatives.
  • Guide a team of talented employee communications professionals, supporting their growth and overseeing strategy, resourcing and prioritization.
  • Lead with adaptability, focus on problem solving through innovative solutions, and thrive in a landscape that can rapidly evolve.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 13+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience AND 10+ years employee communications experience in Employee Communications.


OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field AND 10+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience, AND 10 + years employee communications experience in Employee Communications.
  • 10+ years of people management experience.
  • Proven track record for leading and inspiring high performing employee communications teams.
  • Proven expertise in Talent-focused communications and partnering with Talent leaders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience in crafting internal messaging and content for various internal channels including email, presentations, newsletters, sites, and more.
  • Skilled at managing complex and high stakes internal communications.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years employee communications experience.
  • 10+ years experience supporting senior executives.
  • 15+ years of people management experience.
  • Relationship builder with strong business acumen and ability to prioritize around highest impact actions and partner across leadership and communications teams.
  • Strategic thinker, able to understand context and connect dots to stay ahead of issues and maximize opportunities.
  • Expertise in trust communications and issues management.
  • High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and managerial maturity.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $201,000 to $314,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
