Sr Software EngineerWhat does a successful Sr Software Engineer at Fiserv do?
Are you an experienced and hardworking Senior Software Engineer looking to join a dynamic and innovative product development team? At Fiserv, we build, design, and love all things related to our software products. Our engineers work in highly collaborative product teams to deliver high-value features rapidly for our customers. What You Will Do:
Engage with team members and be an active participant in Scrum Agile events.
Apply engineering best practices to analyze, design, and develop software solutions.
Leverage established coding standards, best practices, and automation capabilities to deliver working software that meets the needs of the business.
Identify technical problems in malfunctioning or poor-performing software and develop solutions and automation capabilities.
Implement a suite of automated unit and integration tests to confirm the expected behavior of software during the build process.
Mentor, provide feedback, and assist in growing the technical knowledge of other developers on the team.
Strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of team execution by completing technical courses and obtaining technical certifications.
Build and maintain continuous integration and continuous development processes through pipeline automation (CI/CD).
What You Need to Have:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
6+ years of experience in designing, developing, delivering, and supporting software applications.
6+ years of experience with modern programming and scripting languages (Java/Spring Boot preferred).
6+ years of experience with datastores and database queries.
Experience working with DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, and Agile methodologies.
Experience with using Git to manage changes to the codebase, including branching and merging practices.
What Would Be Great to Have:
Experience with Linux and Windows; comfortable with CLI.
Experience with unit testing and integration testing, including the use of mocks.
Working knowledge of software architectures and design principles.
Experience working with code organized as multi-module projects (mono-repos preferred).
Experience building images using Docker.
Understanding of micro-service architectures and developing distributed software applications (cloud-native experience preferred).
Foundational knowledge of Kubernetes (publishing and monitoring containers in a Kubernetes environment).
Foundational knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks (Helm, etc.).
Understanding of how to build software artifacts using the Gradle build tool.
Exposure to AWS Cloud Services (AWS Certified preferred).
