Job Summary

Global Devices Organization is responsible for developing, launching and managing devices across Comcast, Sky, and Syndication partners Globally. This role reports to the Operations leader for Global Devices. The Operations team is responsible for providing leadership, driving strategic initiatives, ensuring global operational effectiveness, and enabling growth and scale of the organization. The Senior Manager of GDO Insights plays a critical role in enabling transparency, measurement, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will partner with engineering, product, and business leaders to synthesize requirements and develop an operational cadence for metrics as well as support cross-functional initiatives related to metrics and KPIs across Global Product. Responsible for leading team(s) that work cross-functionally to collect data and develop models to determine trends utilizing a variety of data sources. Manages team(s) that retrieve, analyze and summarize business, operations, employee, customer and/or economic data in order to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness, and predict business outcomes and decision-making purposes. Involved with numerous key business decisions by overseeing the analyses that inform our business strategy. This may include: impact measurement of new products or features via normalization techniques, optimization of business processes through robust A/B testing, clustering or segmentation of customers to identify opportunities of differentiated treatment, deep dive analyses to understand drivers of key business trends, identification of customer sentiment drivers through natural language processing (NLP) of verbatim responses to Net Promotor System (NPS) surveys and development of frameworks to drive upsell strategy for existing customers by balancing business priorities with customer activity. Defines and implements the overall program goals and tasks in terms of scope, quality, budget and schedule. Provides leadership and direction for multiple functional areas. Manages professionals at manager, supervisor and professional levels. Ensures appropriate resources to achieve financial and business objectives. Influences, shapes and integrates strategy for functional area(s).

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead discussions with business leaders and stakeholders to understand data and analysis needs and develop technical requirements. 
  • Lead development of organizational dashboards and KPIs 
  • Advise on the relevancy of data and identify alternative data sources as needed to ensure analytics requested by business stakeholders can be completed. 
  • Oversee the analysis of large, complex data to determine actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools. 
  • Team queries disparate big data platforms such as Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop, and AWS. 
  • Team combines data as needed from disparate data sources to complete analysis. 
  • Lead identification of key business drivers and insights by conducting exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing. 
  • Oversee development of forecasting models to predict sales, demand and other key business metrics. 
  • Review and communicate findings clearly and concisely through narrative-driven presentations and effective data visualizations to Company executives and decision-makers. 
  • Promote and evangelize a culture of excellence, data-driven discussions, healthy skepticism, intellectual curiosity, knowledge sharing, and teamwork. 
  • Stay current with emerging trends in analytics, statistics, and machine learning and apply them to business challenges. 
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. 
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Educational background: Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Engineering
  • Knowledge of Big Data Platforms and Technologies
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing data professionals at various levels with demonstrated success in large enterprise environments
  • Strong technical background in statistical analysis, forecasting models, and advanced analytics
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders of all levels including executive leadership
  • Track record of implementing organizational KPIs and metrics frameworks that drive business decisions and strategic initiatives
  • Experience in technology/rproduct operations environments with ability to balance technical depth and business acumen while fostering data driven culture.
  • Programming Skills: Intermediate Programming Language and Scripting skills (Python and Java) and the ability to review and modify code
  • Expert level knowledge of data platforms (Teradata, SQL, Hadoop, AWS) and visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI) with ability to architect complex data solutions across disparate systems
  • Establishing API connections to connect various tools and data
  • Identifying and standing up a new visualization tool to use for dashboards and visualizations (i.e. Tableau)
