Program Summary
KBR provides full-spectrum base operations support to Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia, a remote location in the British Indian Ocean Territory. Our robust supply chain ensures on-time delivery of mission-critical supplies, and our team conducts essential port and airfield operations in this geographically complex environment. The KBR team is over 1,000 people strong, providing not only life support services such as water treatment, electricity, and telecom/antenna maintenance, but also quality of life services like Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) and an award-winning dining facility.
Job Summary
Responsible for the administration of one or more of the following data systems: Computer systems hardware, software, information systems & peripheral equipment’s such as servers, desktops, printers and storage devices. Maintains, installs, upgrades and configures data systems, administers operating systems, and maintains basic security and recovery procedures such as scheduling and backups. Under general direction, uses specialized knowledge or skills to solve complex and unique problems, or direct the daily activities of a business, technical support, or functional support team. Minimum of Two years’ experience in a Microsoft® operating environment with field experience in personal computer (PC) hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Participates in the planning and delivery of a full range of customer support services to the clients supported by the organization; installs, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots any hardware and software components; presents formal and informal training and assistance to customers, and reports respond to and resolve customer requests.
- Receives, responds to, and ensures complete resolution of any help center call; documents actions taken; gives needed guidance or training to customers to prevent recurrences; and assists more experienced specialists in resolving very complex problems.
- Under direct supervision, performs on-site installation and preventive maintenance of equipment and other electronic devices.
- Configures and tests software on customer workstations.
- Performs diagnostics and analysis on equipment/electronic devices.
- Performs periodic and corrective maintenance on installed equipment and responds to service calls based on priority.
- Ensures proper inventory of equipment, parts, and materials.
- Modifies or updates equipment when necessary.
- Adheres to Problem and Change Management processes and procedures.
- Maintains records and paperwork.
- Interacts with clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Window® 7 Professional, Microsoft® Office Professional, and BMC Remedy.
- Must possess administrative, organizational, and computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to work quickly and in a potentially high-stress environment.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills which enable to effectively liaise with clients, other departments within the organization, subcontractors, and clients, and report directly to the Senior Management.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
- Must have a valid country of origin’s driver’s license.
- Must be able to drive Manual & Automatic Transmission.
Preferred Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING
- IAT-1: Security + or GSEC or SCNP or SSCP. IT Support Technician must meet the requirements outlined in the DOD 8570.1M directive matrix IAT-1.
- A+ CE
- Network+ CE
- Certified Network Defender (CND)
- CCNA Security
- System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
EDUCATION:
- Associate degree in computer science or electrical engineering.
