Sr. Director Network Engineering
Job Summary
Responsible for leading the engineering team responsible for optical transport, IP and commercial networking technologies. Oversees planning and implementation of network technologies and designs for high availability and reliability. Partners with network operations in resolving network incidents timely and assist with root cause analysis (RCA). Acts as an interface to third party vendors and internal stakeholders from a business and engineering perspective with respect to requirements for meeting department and company goals. Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization. Contributes to the development of the organization's business strategy. Interprets business strategy and develops organizational objectives to align with this strategy.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Builds and manages high-performing network engineering teams: cultivate innovation, reward excellence, promote learning, and coach regularly
- Delivers reliable and resilient networks and products, monitors network performance regularly, augments timely to manage capacity, and leverage automation tools to improve standardization and efficiency
- Develop and implement department’s budget. Must have strong skills in planning, prioritization, and executing complex projects on time and within budget. Maintains communication of project statuses and strives for continued improvement in quality and availability of each product and network offering
- Implements industry and Comcast network standards, protocols, solutions, and technologies, including (but not limited to) solutions from, Ciena, Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, DriveNets, etc.
- Ensures the definition, implementation and maintenance of all network engineering infrastructures to minimize network impairments and customer impact. Deploys new functionality quickly and accurately, minimizing disruptions even during maintenance windows
- Builds relationships with field operations, region/market engineering and operations, division engineering and network operations (XOC), national engineering and operations and business development teams
- Develops and implements best practice security standards to ensure the security of all systems, applications and data
- Develops, implements and maintains business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Flexible, open-minded and consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Ability to align strategy with business goals, translating vision into actionable roadmaps.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Strong background in 24x7 operational models. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary

Education
Bachelor's Degree
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
