About this role:The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Group within the Investment Banking division of Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) is seeking an experienced investment banking professional - at the Vice President level - to join our San Francisco office and the Tech M&A team. The M&A Group consists professionals focused on providing a full array of strategic advisory services to Wells Fargo's client base in targeted industry sectors. M&A partners with Wells Fargo's Coverage groups to provide strategic advisory and execution services across the global platform.
- Lead financial analysis, transaction strategy and deal tactics.
- Manage transaction processes.
- Provide input on critical dialogue and transaction negotiations.
- Lead due diligence, valuation, and financial modeling efforts.
In this role, you will:- Lead development of sophisticated financial analyses to evaluate M&A transactions, LBOs, investments, reorganizations, and/or other transactions.
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day execution of multiple transactions.
- Leverage multi-disciplinary insights (i.e., perspective of equity investors, financing markets, industry dynamics) to provide relevant advice.
- Maintain quality control on all work product generated by deal team.
- Analyze companies' financial needs and help develop solutions.
- Structure and recommend creative and unique transaction structures according to client need.
- Identify key industry trends and key industry players to determine who will become clients in the future.
- Support new business origination through the contribution of new ideas (i.e., logical M&A transactions).
- Establish subject matter expertise with clients; begin to be viewed as a knowledgeable / credible resource by clients and able to pitch for new business.
- Interact and build working relationships and credibility with partners across the bank.
- Promote diversity and inclusion amongst the group.
- Mentor and develop the junior team to improve skills and build culture within the group.
- Forge professional relationships with client counterparts (i.e., mid-level corporate development staff).
- Develop network of trusted M&A professionals (i.e., lawyers, consultants, accountants) as both a client sourcing channel and a trusted sounding board.

Required Qualifications:- 5+ years of investment banking experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:- Demonstrated ability to manage and execute M&A transactions
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Sound analytical skills with an advanced understanding of finance and accounting concepts, strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills, maintaining high quality/detail-oriented work standards, and willingness to take on significant responsibility
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Comfortable functioning both independently and as part of a team, meeting stringent deadlines and work quality standards
- Tech sector M&A experience required especially experience in public company transactions
Job Expectations- Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
- Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
- Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Base Pay:- Base pay range for this position is 250,000.00 USD
- May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards
Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$173,300.00 - $359,900.00
