Program Overview:
KBR was selected to support the US Space Force/Air Force Research Laboratory’s ASTRO (Advanced Space Technology Research and Optimization) contract to provide mission equipment operations, maintenance, and upgrades to the USSF’s AMOS site in Maui, Hawaii. The AMOS site plays a vital role in national security by monitoring man-made objects in space and continuously developing next-generation capabilities to keep pace with the expanding space domain. This presents an incredible opportunity to push the boundaries of space and telescope technologies.
Position Overview:
In this role, you’ll use your expertise as a Computer System Administrator to maintain IT infrastructure necessary for 24/7/365 readiness in support of USSF operations and specialized missions.
Key Responsibilities:
- [Sr] Provides experimental networks, experimental system storage, Windows/Linux experimental server support, experimental system database and web server administration, and resolving helpdesk tickets beyond the ability of KBR’s Junior System Administrators.
- [Sr] Mentors and oversees work of less experienced team members.
- [Sr] Resolves issues beyond the ability of Mid-level Computer Systems Analysts.
- [Mid] Provides Network, Storage, Windows/Linux Server Support, Database and Web Server Administration Video Monitoring Systems, and resolving helpdesk tickets beyond the ability of Junior System Administrators.
- [Jr] Provides Network, Storage, Windows/Linux Server Support, Database and Web Server Administration Video Monitoring Systems, and resolving helpdesk tickets beyond the ability of KBR’s Junior System Administrators.
- Assist users with troubleshooting/correction of issues on mission IT systems
- Support test activities, technical troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution on mission IT systems to maintain 24/7/365 mission readiness and/or resolve issues quickly to minimize mission impacts
- Perform systems administration of desktops, databases, and server systems connected to developmental networks
- Provide desktop system management involving account monitoring, security, operating system (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions on mission-support IT equipment
- As needed, assist SW developers with establishing and troubleshooting DevSecOps environments to support SW development and test prior to deployment on mission equipment/networks
Minimum Qualifications:
- [Jr] Associate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of related Information Systems experience; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
- [Mid] Bachelor Degree and a minimum of 5 years of related Information Systems experience; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
- [Sr] Bachelor Degree and a minimum of 8 years of related Information Systems experience; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
- Experience with and understanding of NIST 800 series
- [Sr] Certifications: Minimum IAT Level 2 or DoD 8140 equivalent, hardware/software specific training/certifications
- [Mid] Certifications: Minimum IAT Level 2 or DoD 8140 equivalent, hardware/software specific training/certifications.
- [Jr] Certifications: Minimum IAT Level 1 or DoD 8140 equivalent, hardware/software specific training/certifications.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with and understanding of ICD 503
- Experience with Military / DOD
Clearance: Active Secret required, must be clearable to TS/SCI
Compensation range:
$73,000 - $203,100
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
Work Environment:
KBR supports work from home when compatible with meeting contract requirements. AMOS is a dynamic work environment, and this contract supports routine operations of and maintenance of mission equipment, as well as the need to respond to real-world events. To the extent possible, schedules are forecasted in advance, but upgrades, maintenance or significant tests require personnel to be present in the telescope facilities on Haleakala or Government’s Kihei office. Candidate must have effective verbal and written communication skills; must be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences or facilitate group discussions; develop accurate written materials to communicate information clearly and concisely.
