The Multi-domain Solutions Division (MDS) within the Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join a new cyber security program and play a key role in supporting government-critical systems. You will be part of a program that oversees development, integration, delivery, and operations and maintenance of IT managed security services, which encompasses support to monitor the cybersecurity threat and security posture situational awareness for the enterprise. This opportunity is in anticipation of a future contract award!
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our servers, networks, cloud environments, and enterprise applications.
- Oversee system architecture, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive automation and optimization initiatives.
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise server environments, including Windows, Linux, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Manage and optimize virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud-based virtualization).
- Oversee storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
- Automate system administration tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Implement and enforce security best practices, system hardening, and access controls.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, patch management, and compliance audits (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA).
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to identify, mitigate, and respond to security threats.
- Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for performance and security.
- Oversee network infrastructure (firewalls, VPNs, load balancers) and ensure optimal connectivity.
- Lead hybrid cloud integration and migration strategies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior system administrators and IT support teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop IT strategies and roadmaps.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance infrastructure efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and network issues in high-availability environments.
- Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and implement capacity planning strategies.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system diagrams.
What does Leidos need from me?
- Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph security clearance required. Must be U.S. Citizen.
- Bachelor's and 4 to 8 years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 2 to 6 years of prior relevant experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Favorable if you have:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
- CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+), CISSP, or GIAC Certifications.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
