What does a successful Project Manager do?
At Fiserv, our Project Managers ensure predictable, consistent, and successful project delivery. By planning, coordinating, and monitoring medium to large-sized projects with a focus on scope, budget, and timelines, they partner with key business stakeholders to ensure seamless project initiation and completion. Our Project Managers work under limited supervision with oversight from the Implementations Director.
What you will do:
- Define the overall project scope and consolidate timelines to highlight major milestones and associated dates.
- Identify and communicate project dependencies and impacts to stakeholders.
- Establish mechanisms for setting expectations and ensuring ongoing control (e.g., kick-off meetings, risk management, change control).
- Provide a complete view of the overall project to the organization and all stakeholders.
- Define project governance, outlining roles, responsibilities, and decision rights.
- Ensure success criteria are defined upfront to promote alignment and actively manage expected project outcomes.
- Keep all stakeholders, both internal and external, engaged and informed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively communicate progress to provide transparency and facilitate effective, timely decision-making.
What you will need to have:
- 5+ years of experience in project management within the financial services or software industries.
- Demonstrated experience in project management processes and methodologies, as well as the project lifecycle.
- Proven track record in driving large projects within an organization.
- Proficiency with Project Management tools.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Flexibility to be on call for urgent escalations.
What would be great to have:
- 6+ years of experience in stakeholder management and influencing project teams.
- Familiarity with banking or financial services industry.
- 7+ years of experience in utilizing Project Management tools.
- Knowledge of change management and risk management principles.
- Experience in implementing software solutions in a business environment.
