Core Responsibilities:
As an Eng 4, Platform Development Engineer specializing in UX/UI, you would:
- Lead a team of designers and engineers to create, build, and maintain high-quality user interfaces and experiences across platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to define and deliver effective design solutions.
- Architect, design, and optimize user interfaces using design principles, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
- Ensure seamless and intuitive user experiences by designing interactions, workflows, and visual elements for web and mobile platforms.
- Leverage modern design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or Invision to produce deliverables.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and continuously improve the user interface and experience.
- Optimize designs for responsive behaviour across various devices and screen sizes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, helping to build a culture of design excellence.
- Ensure that design principles and best practices are followed, including accessibility standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex user experience challenges and design issues.
- Drive the integration of design systems and reusable components into development processes.
- Act as the primary design point of contact, working closely with product managers and engineering teams to define requirements and priorities.
Requirements:
Key requirements and experience include:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in UX/UI design and development.
- Expertise in user interface design and experience with JavaScript, React, or Angular for front-end development.
- Strong experience in designing, developing, and optimizing user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Invision for prototyping and high-fidelity mockups.
- Proficiency in building responsive, user-friendly web and mobile experiences.
- Strong knowledge of design principles, usability, interaction design, and visual hierarchy.
- Familiarity with user research methodologies, usability testing, and gathering user feedback to iterate on designs.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for designing inclusive user experiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a user-centered approach to designing complex workflows.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Experience integrating design systems and reusable UI components into development processes.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines for design and development workflows.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Experience with building and maintaining design systems is an added advantage.
