Title:
DG BOSS: Cook/Food Handler
- Serves meals by reviewing recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.
- Prepares ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; adding seasonings; verifying taste; and plating meals.
- Completes hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients.
- Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
- Assisting 2nd cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with a variety of restaurant/dining facilities patrons.
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of food service lines set-up and temperature requirements.
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
- Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
- Must have valid and obtain a valid Driver’s License with Restriction Code (at least 2)

EDUCATION:
- Must be at least high school or technical school graduate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management or any equivalent is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5-years’ experience as Cook or 2nd Cook for the U.S. Military Installation or with American owned companies and/or equivalent civilian experience.
