What does a successful Senior Software and Automation Engineer do at Fiserv?
You will be part of our Core Acquiring Front End engineering group within Fiserv’s Global Business Solutions (Payment Acceptance) business. You will join an organization responsible for mission critical platforms that support our payment acquiring business. You will be part of a team that processes over 350 million payment transactions per day with a peak throughput of over 8,000 transactions per second and maintain millisecond fast response time for some of the largest merchants in the US. You will use your passion and be a critical problem solver who can balance platform stability and resiliency along with modern engineering practices and solutions.
What you will do:
- Leverage your expertise as a full-time, hands-on software and automation engineer on online transaction processing (OLTP) applications
- Deliver quality code to integration testing, certification, and production environments
- Automate testing and deployments through CI/CD processes; play a QE role as needed
- Own responsibility for design, building of and support of aligned application(s) or platform(s)
- Create tech stories, participate in code reviews, and support production
- Design performant, efficient, effective, and reusable technical solutions
- Partner effectively with DevOps, Production Support, and peer platform teams
What you will need to have:
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering roles
- 6+ years of experience in one or more general-purpose programming language such as Java and Python
- 3+ years of experience in automation/test automation
- 3+ years of experience in payments processing/online transaction processing systems with high volume and low latency type applications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience
What would be great to have:
- Experience in financial services
- Experience with C and TAL
- Experience with Enscribe, Pathway, DDL, and SQL Server MP (NonStop)
- Experience in SQL MX and OSS
- Ability to create clear, concise reports to leadership
