Key Responsibilities:
KBR is seeking a Special Programs Analyst familiar with national security space systems to join our team at the Pentagon. The Special Programs Analyst will support the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ).
- The position primarily involves helping the Assistant Secretary to provide direction, guidance, and supervision over all matters pertaining to the formulation, review, approval, and execution of selected Special Access Program acquisition plans, policies, and programs. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team implementing the Secretary of Defense’s guidance on build a more lethal force, with a particular focus on modernizing key capabilities and integrating them into our National Security Space Enterprise Architecture Special Programs Analyst primarily supports the SAF/SQ Special Programs Chief as part of the space Special Access Program (SAP) management team responsible for acquiring highly-classified space systems and promoting their integration into a system of systems meeting warfighter requirements.
- Working as a member of a diverse team, the Special Programs Analyst will: Provide objective information and analysis supporting decision making on the policy and programmatic aspects of SAP management and operations through a variety of task assignments; Prepare the SAF/SQ Special Programs Chief for SAP-related topics and generate briefing material for the DAF SAP governance and oversight executive forums; Review and track the status of current (execution year) and future year defense program (FYDP) funding; Advise the Assistant Secretary on budget processes and milestones associated with relevant special access programs; Assist the SAF/SQ Special Programs Chief with SAP management activities and packages (e.g., Program Establishments, Program Scope Changes, and Annual Reports to Congress)
- Analyze proposed program changes and determine how these changes could impact or aid other programs, future operations, and overall SAP security architecture
- Maintain awareness of space compartmented programs, associated ground infrastructures, and related command and control systems across the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community; Prepare and deliver executive level briefings, reports, and summary papers; explain complex concepts in relatively simple language; summarize key decisions; and provide recommendations supported by analysis.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 15 or more yrs. applicable experience (experience may be substituted for education, or education for experience at the sole discretion of the customer) 5 or more years Special Access Program and/or Controlled Access Program (CAP) management, or budget development and execution experience (preferably with the most recent experience occurring within the last 2 years)
- A current Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI is required for this position.
- Familiarity with DoD weapon system acquisition and Systems Engineering processes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and writing) skills.
- Must have experience in using critical thinking to prepare written reports and presentations for executive-level officials Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Demonstrated understanding of current SAP issues and interest to develop improved business practices.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to plan, work and deliver, both independently and as part of a diverse team focused on delivering essential national security capabilities to the joint warfighter
Desired:
- Master’s Degree Experience as a SAP Program Element Monitor Headquarters Air Force (SAF, AF, or SF) staff experience within the past 5 years Experience supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Service HQ, or Director-level staff at a DoD Agency or in the Intelligence Community Experience relevant to National Security Space (NSS) acquisition program management (e.g., working in an acquisition program office)

Basic Compensation:
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
