Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment Team as an F-16 Hardware Modification Technical Publications Lead at our Hill Air Force Base facility! This position supports the F-16 System Program Office (SPO) by verifying technical data/technical order changes for avionics and weapons systems related modifications are being incorporated accurately according to developed formatting standards and required technical writing specifications.

What You Will Be Doing
The Quality Assurance (QA) lead Technical Order (TO) development responsibilities include:
• Provides TO development support on F-16 Hardware and Software modifications incorporated into Job Guides (JG), Fault Isolation (FI) manuals, General System (GS) manuals , General Vehicle (GV) manuals, Flight Manuals (FM), Workcards, and Local Checklists (LCL).
• Ensures quality is built into the product by developing, modifying, applying and maintaining TO Redline/Writing Style Guides utilized by the TO writers. Additionally, the QA lead ensures compliance with AFIs, MIL-STDs, MIL-STDs, DOD-STDs, DODIs, MIL-HDBKs, and MIL-PRFs by developers.
• Collaborates with the F-16 SPO Equipment Specialist (ES) leads and the Flight Manual Managers (FMM) to ensure quality standards are in place and being met, and the product meets the standard set forth by the customer.
• Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the quality of TO development products. Designs and analyzes inspection processes, inspection tracking tools, and Writing Process Guides to continually improve the QA process.
• Performs statistical analysis to assess the effectiveness of the QA program and validate required standards or specifications are being met. Performs quarterly audits for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures mitigate or eliminate identified deficiencies and prevent repeat occurrences.
• Develops new measures when necessary to correct previously undiscovered deficiencies. Functions as the point of contact for all formatting and technical writing questions with respect to established standards and policies instituted by the F-16 SPO and TO development team.
• This position also leads teams and individuals on daily tasks to execute all quality program and site objectives with limited direction. The role is responsible for breaking down complex issues into clear and concise tasks and plans that other team members can understand and execute. This role must be able to clearly communicate complex ideas and information with all levels of management and team members.
• Functions as the Point of Contact (POC) for the Rock Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) related support issues, Fort Worth Tech Pubs shared drive access and TO database maintenance.

• This position requires an active Final Secret Security Clearance. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:
The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:

• Minimum 9 years of F-16 Avionics Maintenance experience and troubleshooting knowledge to include Technical Order Authoring in multiple authoring tools and formats.

• Minimum 9 years of experience performing checkout and troubleshooting procedures as related to fighter aircraft avionics or weapons systems using military Technical Order publications.

• Minimum 9 years of direct interface and coordination with the US Government Equipment Specialists and authoring team.

• Experience applying TO 00-5-1 and/or Air Force TO System requirements and Air Force TO guidance and using change-related forms.

• Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Desired Skills:
The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the others:

• Advanced knowledge of F-16 flight line avionics (electrical and mechanical) troubleshooting, repair, calibration, hardware/software upgrades, and parts supportability of specific test equipment.
• QA inspection experience within the last 2 years with emphasis on TO development related F-16 modifications. Direct leadership on a team performing Technical Writing, TO development and engineering support as related to fighter aircraft avionics or weapons systems using military Technical Order publications.
• F-16 Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience and extensive knowledge of FMS F-16 configurations and modifications.
• Demonstrates Advanced Interpersonal skills and attitude to establish and maintain a positive and effective interaction with leadership, customers and peers while leading an effective TO inspection team.
• Able to communicate complex requirements and interpret complex formatting instructions, guidance, policies, and rules relating to technical writing and TO development.
• Strong computer skills with attention to detail. Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and (SGML).
• Able to demonstrate Advanced Experience/Knowledge using Epic Editor, Isodraw, Arbor Text Tool Suite, and Adobe Acrobat also a plus.
• Candidates that can demonstrate an advance proficiency/knowledge in aircraft avionics technical manuals such as; Job Guides, General Systems, Fault Isolation, Illustrated Parts Breakdowns, Commodity, Support Equipment, and Flight Manual TO’s.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
