Lockheed Martin Space seeks a mid-career level Program Planner to join our mission on the Orion Program. We are the prime contractor building the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, NASA’s first spacecraft designed for long-duration, human-rated deep space exploration. Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit, such as asteroids, the moon and eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth.

As our Program Planner, you will collaborate closely with suppliers to develop and manage schedules, ensuring timely delivery of schedule artifacts and proactive issue resolution. Your key responsibilities will include supporting regular status meetings, identifying and addressing critical items, and working with individuals to find solutions that drive schedule performance and success.


Additionally, in this role you will....

• Interface with programs, proposal teams and product teams on schedule related topics

• Identify and strengthen planning process improvements for the line item of business

• Develop and maintain Integrated Main Schedules in Open Plan and MS Project Server

• Combine multi- functional inputs to encompass the end-to-end program lifecycle

• Conduct critical path & risk analyses and output into actionable data for the program

• Communicate schedule impacts and develop corrective action proposals

• Develop schedules that incorporate contractual scope, workflow, and resources



Our level 4 employees typically have 9-15 years of professional experience.

This position will be based in Los Angeles, CA. For the first several months, the work will be done at the supplier's location in El Monte, CA with occasional travel up to 25% to our Highlands Ranch, CO location. Once the work in LA is complete and as work shifts to locations in other parts of the country, travel up to 50% could be required.

Basic Qualifications:
• 3-8 years of previous planning/scheduling experience

• Strong skills with OpenPlan, Microsoft Project Pro, or another comparable planning tool

• Experience with JIRA and JIRA Integration with an Integrated Master Schedule

• Earned Value Management planning

• Prior experience performing planning for software development activities

• Must be able to travel up to 50%
Desired Skills:
• Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics

• Experience with OpenPlan and Microsoft Project Pro highly preferred

• Analytical organizational mindset

• Ability to work independently as well as part of an integrated team

• Ability to communicate and work effectively across multiple disciplines

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $109,200 - $189,290. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
