What does this role look like?
Lockheed Martin Space (LMS) is seeking a Capture Management (CM) Director to lead large capture campaigns across the company for opportunities valued at greater than $500M, spanning military, civil, national security and commercial space markets. The CM Director will report to the Vice President of Capture Excellence (CE) within the Strategy and Business Development (S&BD) organization.
The successful candidate will be deployed to specific mission areas across LMS to partner with the Mission Strategy and Advanced Capability (MSAC) teams and lead capture teams to achieve strategic growth. The CM Director will have access to and collaboration with the CE VP, the MSAC VPs and their leaders, functional area leaders and broader S&BD executive team. The CM Director will lead a team consisting of strategy, business development, proposal management, business operations and solution architects to support an enterprise-wide portfolio of capture activities, assuming a scope-of-work that spans from early-stage shaping through proposal submittal and negotiation.
The CM Director will organize and lead internal and external outreach activities to shape and influence the trajectory and construct of major systems acquisitions. She or he will use their experience and expertise on large programs to address critical customer mission needs while growing the business and building on the growth success of Lockheed Martin Space.
In this role will offer you the following daily key responsibilities:
• Lead capture and business development efforts for large captures in close coordination and collaboration with the CE VP, MSAC VP and their team.
• Develop and implement win strategies, competitive intelligence portfolios, teaming strategies, customer assessments and all elements of a large capture to maximize probability-of-win.
• Drive development of strategies and objectives with executives in the MSAC and across the LM Enterprise to achieve shaping goals and develop programmatic baselines for development, production and services contracts.
• Deliver customer-centric key messages to build the stakeholder base and drive all keep-sold activities for the family of acquisitions.
• Create detailed project and capture management plans to ensure on-cost and -schedule performance and disciplined execution of capture elements.
• Develop overall mission/customer-oriented product strategies focused on both short and long-term growth opportunities and gain advocacy for these strategies with the MSAC team and the corresponding line-of-business (LOB).
• Develop and drive both internal and external Government and contractor engagement campaigns.
• Maintain accountability to shape and win new business by delivering competitively discriminating, customer-aligned mission solutions.
• Develop and maintain effective customer, teammate and internal relationships.
• Lead efforts with executives to develop and perform to strategic growth plans and technology roadmaps.
• Work closely with the Government Affairs team to understand external factors, budgetary plans, and Executive and Legislative branch positions and perspectives that may impact or influence a capture effort.
Basic Qualifications:To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications: • 15+ years minimum experience in aerospace and defense and across military, civil, national security and commercial space customer markets, and previous relevant Government experience and relationships strongly preferred with the space customer groups stated above.
• Previous team leadership experience working on major captures and programs that cut across competing interests and equities to deliver consensus and desired end states
• Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external networks and develop strong teams to achieve goals.
• Previous experience leading large pursuits/captures/proposals valued at $500M or greater, and strong capture win record and understanding of balance between customer, competitor and internal considerations in formulating an offering.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage across functional areas to engage them early and achieve results, and experience engaging government customers and developing trusted relationships.
• Ability and willingness to travel for business 1-2 times per month.
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and
currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills:To be effective, ideally, you should also have:• Industry-applicable B.S. or B.A. degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
• Current or previous certs and experience as certified Program Management Professional preferred.
• Experience as a systems and total-offering thinker, with proven ability to bring decision clarity to complex organizations in dynamic environments.
• Advanced executive-level presentation and communication skills.
• TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $180,000 - $287,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
