Electrophysics Engineer/Scientist (Modeling, Simulation & Analysis)

Job Description

Position Overview:

Boeing is seeking Engineer/Scientist to join our multi-disciplined engineering team in Albuquerque, NM designing and developing advanced concepts for the DoD. This position will join our mod/sim team responsible for wave optics modeling, error budgets, radiometry, trade studies, and other mod/sim/analysis efforts to support requirements definition and system performance modeling. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated work experience with optical systems mod/sim/analysis. The position will work with the SEIT team, providing data to be used for validating performance.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develops and validates models and simulations of optical systems.

• Works with engineering teams to collect and analyze data used to anchor models.

• Uses models and simulations to develop system requirements.

• Performs complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.

• Defines and conducts critical analyses of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.

• 3+ years of experience with image processing.

• 3+ years of experience with wave optics models OR error budgets.

• 3+ years of experience with MATLAB OR Mathematica.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 5+ years of experience modeling and simulating optical systems

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range:

Experienced (level 3): $97,750 - $132,350

Senior (level 4): $118,150 - $159,850

Lead (level 5): $145,350 - $196,650
