The Boeing Company seeks a Mid-level Software Engineering Manager to join our Space Mission Systems (SMS) Ground Mission Management (GMM) team in Colorado Springs, CO.
This team builds the next-generation products and services for the BDS business unit. Working with commercial, government, and proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements, design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Responsibilities:
Manage staffing needs and grow the skills/capabilities of the organization.
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners, and provide oversight of technical approaches, products, and processes.
Must be able to solve complex problems, work multiple tasks simultaneously, and be familiar with managing development projects and industry equivalent practices.
Experience supporting New Business Campaigns and have the technical ability to work with the engineering community.
Forecast, obtain, and manage personnel to meet project and organizational requirements; acquire, deploy, and schedule personnel to meet organizational objectives.
Determines critical skills within an organization or functional area; develops and implements staffing plans to ensure necessary skills are available within the company.
Develops and motivates employees.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.
Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
5+ years of experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
3+ years of experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks
3+ years of experience with modern software development methodologies
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance post-start
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Experience with satellite ground mission capabilities
Experience with on-orbit engineering support
Experience in successfully managing and being part of a complex IPT to produce results within budget, on schedule, and to performance requirements
Experience with DevSecOps and continuous integration
Solid understanding of Java/C++ full-stack development and object-oriented programming skills
Active TS/SCI clearance
Travel: Less than 10%

Summary Pay Range: $154,700 - $209,300
