What does a successful Software Development Engineering - Senior Advisor do at Fiserv?
As a key technical resource supporting Telecheck Settlement, which processes over 300 million transactions per day, you will play a crucial role in developing efficient and sustainable solutions based on Service-Oriented Architecture, helping transform data into actionable insights and creating enriched experiences for our clients. Additionally, you will provide essential support, troubleshoot issues, and maintain settlement processing efficiency.

What you will do:
- Drive modernization and migration of real-time applications to AWS that are low-latency, high-volume APIs that run 24x7 supporting critical business processes
- Provide guidance to scrum masters to create relevant epics/user stories
- Participate in client meetings and provide meaningful insights into solutions
- Participate in an on-call rotation and be available to support incident reports created by clients to address them in timely fashion. Participate in on-call rotation as well
- Develop and auto-execute unit test cases integrated with Maven builds
- Develop log events and customize error codes based on client requirements and implement exception handling and trigger incident alerts based on errors
- Write fault-tolerant publishers and subscribers in Kafka, efficient queries in Snowflake, and stored procedures and functions
- Create, set up, and deploy Spring Boot applications leveraging Service-Oriented Architecture
What you will need to have:
- 10+ years of experience in software development or similar roles
- 10+ years of experience in one or more general-purpose programming language such as Java, C, and C++
- 6+ years of experience using Spring Boot to create, setup, and deploy Spring Boot applications
- 4+ years of experience in AWS Cloud-based technologies with universally available and scalable architecture
- 3+ years of experience in CI/CD concepts and tools such as Git, Maven, Gradle or Jenkins
- 1+ year(s) of experience using Snowflake (big data cloud database) to write efficient queries, read and understand the query plan, and write stored procedures and functions
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience
What would be great to have:
- Financial services/payments industry experience
- Knowledge of PLSQL and Oracle Query tuning
- Knowledge of C/C++
- Experience with Kafka
- Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with the Jira board process
