As Counsel, you will provide legal support to Fiserv’s Merchant Solutions division, with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating agreements with merchant clients, referral and strategic partners, and vendors. This lawyer will provide legal and regulatory advice in connection with the commercialization of new products. This lawyer will partner with and provide prompt guidance and support to senior business and sales executives.
What you will do:
- Work directly with business unit representatives to prepare and negotiate client, partner, vendor, and other product and services agreements.
- Partner with product teams to commercialize new products and functionality.
- Advise business stakeholders on legal, contractual, and risk matters.
- Provide legal advice regarding strategic initiatives, technology projects, customer and vendor contracts, intellectual property, dispute resolution, regulatory matters, and corporate policies.
- Partner with corporate specialists on finance, audit, tax, IT, publicity/press, intellectual property, litigation, regulatory, privacy, and technology matters.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and applicable legislation.
- Develop and maintain forms of contracts and other legal documentation.
What you will need to have:
- 3+ years of experience in negotiating, drafting, and redlining contracts and providing regulatory guidance.
- Knowledge of financial services industry or technology laws and regulations applicable to technology services and software licensing.
- JD from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in an appropriate jurisdiction.
- In good standing with the State Bar with no disciplinary record.
