Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. Develops software configuration standards and policies for company-wide use. Trains software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards. Maintains the Software Configuration Management System including collection or distribution of code documentation, problem report and change request processing, software build documents, and delivery of software products to operational environments. Implements long term organizational objectives for software process improvement (e.g., SEI CMM), compliance with ISO 9000 standards, and software code reuse.
Specific Job Description
Candidate will be responsible for execution and coordination of Software Configuration Management and Data Management tasks supporting IRST Programs. IRST is an Infrared Search and Track Sensor with multiple configurations used across multiple platforms and customers. Execution of responsibilities will be in support of IRST Development, Production and Sustainment contracts, activities and projects. Successful candidate will have basic technical background, knowledge and demonstrated aptitude required to learn processes, systems, and procedures for execution of roles and responsibilities in dynamic & high operational tempo environment.
Tasks will involve identifying, designing, developing, organizing, and maintaining technical documentation to improve internal software development processes to ensure that all technical documentation is standardized, accurate, relevant and compliant to specifications, policies and procedures. Candidate must have strong computer skills, able to work well within teaming environment. Frequent interface with internal company and external contacts is required. Individual must be a self-starter, capable of effectively balancing multiple tasks. Frequent use of Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence, Git, GitLab/GitHub, etc.)
Day to day responsibilities will include:
• Software Configuration Control - Maintain software databases to support current and future program efforts. Conduct Software Engineering Boards, collect peer review information, maintain configuration control of codes and software documents, build controlled loads, support SQA audits, collect and report metrics, and create and maintain library procedures.
• Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) activities to monitor the relationship between the engineering design of the product and the actual software product after it has been completed. Utilize a computerized relational database for controlling product software configuration, documentation, and system traceability.
• Engineering Release - Release approved engineering documents and document changes in the repository for engineering documentation, PLM. Review drawings, specifications, and other engineering documents to verify that they are prepared in the correct format, have been approved by the appropriate document reviewers, and that associated parts lists of Bills of Material (BOM) are in the correct format.
• Data Management – Employee will be responsible for management of contract data deliverable contents and schedules to ensure accurate reporting and on-time submittal to customers.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or masters degree from an accredited college in a related discipline. Entry level.
• Excellent communication skills and Customer Service orientation
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

• Individual must be a self-starter capable of effectively managing multiple tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and be detailed oriented towards project management
• Previous internship or work study program with DoD contractor or military affiliation
• Ability to work in a cross-functional IPT environment
• Experience with SAP client applications

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
