What You'll Be Doing:
This role is an onsite role in Colorado Springs, CO.
The IT Operations Specialist will be a key player in optimizing and enhancing IT processes and procedures across the organization. This role will primarily focus on improving the efficiency of internal workflows, with particular attention to the onboarding and offboarding processes. The IT Operations Specialist will work to streamline these critical processes by identifying bottlenecks, automating repetitive tasks, and ensuring a smooth experience for new and departing employees. This will help ensure that all staff members have timely access to the tools, systems, and resources they need to be productive from day one.
In addition to process optimization, the IT Operations Specialist will play a pivotal role in the enhancement of networking infrastructure, particularly within our Technical Academies. The Specialist will assess, upgrade, and maintain the network infrastructure to ensure that it is reliable, secure, and scalable, supporting both current and future technological needs. This includes collaborating with other IT professionals to assess network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements that ensure optimal speed, security, and connectivity for students, staff, and other users. As Technical Academies require robust and high-performing networks, this aspect of the role is crucial in supporting the academy's ability to deliver high-quality training and educational resources to its users.
The role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, driving improvements in IT systems while ensuring that day-to-day operations run seamlessly.
The IT Operations Specialist will also be a driving force in continuous improvement, analyzing and assessing existing IT processes and infrastructure to identify areas for optimization. Through their involvement in both tactical and strategic IT planning, they will be able to anticipate challenges, propose solutions, and implement changes that lead to enhanced productivity, reduced costs, and increased system reliability.
What You'll Do:
- Process Optimization: Lead efforts to streamline IT processes, with a special emphasis on optimizing the onboarding and offboarding of staff, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
- Network Infrastructure Improvement: Assist in upgrading and maintaining networking infrastructure at Technical Academies to ensure reliable, fast, and secure connectivity for all users.
- Collaborative IT Projects: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement and implement IT solutions that enhance operational effectiveness.
- Documentation and Standardization: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for IT processes and procedures, ensuring they are clear, consistent, and scalable.
- IT Support: Provide technical support for end-users, troubleshooting and resolving IT issues related to hardware, software, and networks.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Conduct training sessions for staff on IT systems and processes, ensuring users are equipped to effectively use available technologies.
- Vendor and Resource Management: Assist with vendor management for networking infrastructure upgrades and ensure that technical resources align with organizational goals.
- Security and Compliance: Help implement and maintain security protocols to protect company data and systems, ensuring all upgrades meet the required compliance standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously assessing IT operations and network infrastructure to identify and implement process improvements and technological advancements
What You Should Have:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in an IT role with a focus on IT operations, process improvement, and network infrastructure.
- Proven experience supporting Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and IT infrastructure.
- Certifications: At least one IT certification (e.g., A+, Network+, or similar certifications).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

- In-depth understanding of networking infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present ideas clearly.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Expertise in streamlining workflows, especially in IT-related processes like onboarding and resource allocation.
