Electronics Technician III
KBR’s Defense and Technology Solutions (DTS) business unit is seeking to hire Electronic Technician III to join our Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Operating Unit. CIP provides expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and Utilities/Control Systems for the DoD, FAA, and Federal Law Enforcement.
Job Summary:
This position will independently plan and perform corrective and preventive maintenance on complex electronic intrusion detection and access control systems. You will serve as an expert in intrusion detection and access control systems that include video (IR and day), access control (card readers and keypads), RADAR perimeter security, intrusion detection (PIR and BMS), mass notification equipment and a variety of communication networks.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Typical duties include:
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on intrusion detection, access control, and surveillance systems of various types and manufacturers
- Recommend solutions to design problems.
- Perform system tests and analyzing results, modifying equipment or installations to improve performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have, as a minimum, eight (8) years’ hands-on experience in the field of electronics, electrical and/or communications equipment installation and maintenance.
- Experience must include operational, maintenance and team lead work assignments.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree in electronics technology or a two-year civilian technical electronics curriculum or a four-year trade apprenticeship-training program in electronics or graduate of a military Class "A" electronics school.
- Previous Intrusion Detection System experience.
- Network cabling and configuration preferred.
- Experience with CCTV, Intrusion Detection Systems and Access Control System equipment highly preferred.
- Able to read design drawings to determine device locations.
- Able to utilize a multimeter to troubleshoot alarm circuits for faults.
- Position requires a motivated self-starter requiring little direction to perform daily tasks of working on trouble cases and preventative maintenance.
This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position.

Compensation: $35.86 per hour. This salary is for the California locations. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's work location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience, contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.
