The Role
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Configuration Developer / Manager with extensive technical expertise in Insurity’s cloud-based SaaS solutions. This role is focused on leveraging Insurity’s platform to configure and customize Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance policy administration systems, ensuring alignment with client-specific requirements, including product definitions, rating structures, forms generation, and billing operations.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both business requirements and technical configuration, as well as hands-on experience with Insurity’s advanced features and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Product Configuration and Customization:
- Lead the configuration of complex insurance products, including policy structures, coverages, limits, deductibles, and eligibility rules using Insurity's Policy Administration System
- Implement and optimize intricate rating algorithms, factor tables, and calculation sequences for various lines of business, leveraging Insurity's Rating and Underwriting modules
- Design and configure comprehensive billing plans, payment schedules, invoicing rules, and commission structures using Insurity’s Billing solution
- Strategic Business Process and Workflow Design:
- Lead the design and optimization of workflows for core insurance processes, such as quoting, binding, policy changes, renewals, and cancellations, utilizing Insurity's Workflow Management tools
- Architect business rules and validation logic across the policy lifecycle using Insurity’s powerful Rules Engine
- Configure and streamline integrations between various Insurity modules (policy, billing, claims) with Insurity Connect’s low-code integration tools, ensuring seamless data exchange and process flow
- Technical Implementation, Optimization, and Support:
- Design and implement complex custom screens and user interface components using Insurity's advanced configuration tools
- Define and implement state-specific variations for products, rates, and forms across different jurisdictions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex configuration issues, optimize system performance, and provide expert-level production support for configuration-related issues
- Collaborate with technical teams to implement best practices in system optimization and configuration.
- Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide technical leadership in configuration design and best practices, guiding junior developers and configuration resources.
- Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and code reviews to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable configurations.
- Mentor and train team members on advanced Insurity platform capabilities, including the use of Insurity’s advanced tools and features.
Compensation and Benefits
Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in Chicago, the expected salary range for this role is $116-681 - $202,000; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.

Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.
The Requirements
Required Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience using Insurity’s suite of configuration tools, including Policy Administration, Billing, Claims, Underwriting, and Workflow Management
- Advanced proficiency with Insurity Connect for building and managing integrations and automations across systems
- Expertise in XML/JSON, configuration data structures, and the design of complex data flows
- Strong proficiency in SQL for advanced data validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Expertise in version control systems for configuration management and deployment processes
- Deep understanding of system deployment processes across environments and troubleshooting tools
- Experience with cloud-based configuration debugging and monitoring tools, ensuring optimal system performance and troubleshooting in cloud deployments.
Required Insurance Domain Knowledge
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the P&C insurance industry, with a proven track record of implementing complex insurance solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of policy structures, coverages, product design, and the intricacies of various lines of business.
- Expert-level understanding of insurance rating methodologies, calculations, and underwriting processes.
- Extensive experience with insurance forms and document generation requirements, including regulatory compliance and jurisdictional variations.
- Expert knowledge of billing operations, payment plans, and commission structures, including experience with complex billing scenarios.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting product configuration, including ISO standards and bureau content.
- Hands-on experience with Insurity’s suite of products, including Policy Administration, Billing, Claims, Underwriting, and Analytics.

This role is essential for successful Insurity administration system implementations, ensuring that the configured platform accurately reflects the client's insurance products, pricing models, documents, and billing processes while adhering to regulatory requirements.
