The Senior Investment Analyst, Investments AML and KYC position is responsible for operational processes supporting investment portfolios managed by Nationwide Investments, including assets traded for Nationwide’s own accounts, as well as those of our Registered Investment Advisor clients. This role involves conducting thorough support of client, bank, and brokerage AML/KYC requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and keep current on KYC/AML documentation to readily support requirements of partner banks, brokers, and asset managers.
- Review and verify customer identification and documentation.
- Monitor and investigate suspicious transactions to prevent money laundering activities.
- Create, maintain, and ensure compliance with AML and KYC regulations and policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to report findings and escalate issues.
- Work across Nationwide’s Investments Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Secretary to obtain all required documents that support and satisfy external AML/KYC requirements.
- Support reconciliations of all securities held across all systems and custody types, resolving variances with corresponding parties.
- Support internal/external audit engagements, regulatory inquiries, and Financial Reporting Controls.
- Stay informed about changes in AML and KYC laws and regulations.

The position is responsible for performing and reviewing a variety of complex operational functions with a focus on daily trade settlement, transaction processing, custodian cash and asset reconciliations for Public Fixed Income, Private Placements, Bank Loans and Commercial Mortgage Loans.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Works closely with front office, operational, technology and controllership teams to support various complex operational processes in order to ensure timely, accurate and efficient flow of fixed income and/or commercial mortgage loan transactions.
Support and/or lead operational projects, process improvement opportunities, and application upgrade testing. Partner with Investments Technology on supporting tactical projects.
Experienced understanding of statutory accounting requirements including NAIC valuation and rating policy.
Focus on data quality of transaction processing and security set-up to ensure accurate data is moving within and between subsequent downstream investment systems and reporting environments.
Assist with processing core transactions in Front/Middle/Back Office Accounting systems
Assist with comprehensive reviews of open payables, open receivables, unapplied cash for assigned CUSIPs and review all trades across assigned portfolios.
Support the reconciliations of all securities held across all systems and all custody types. Resolve variances with corresponding party (internal and external).
Works with the Data Management and Reporting team on assigned reporting tasks, as well as supports the completion and maintenance of critical reporting.
Recommends changes to enhance, build or improve existing controls and procedures using Continuous Improvement methods.
Support internal/external audit engagements, regulatory inquiries, and Financial Reporting Controls.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
