TITLE: Database Administrator Sr

LOCATION: Milwaukee, WI (and various unanticipated locations throughout the US subject to authorization from management)
DUTIES: Provide architecture and design solutions for creating Oracle databases for new applications or modification to existing applications using the enterprise standards. Install and configure database software. Perform database upgrade and patching. Maintain DATA GUARD to provide high availability by implementing physical stand-by database and snapshot-standby using Oracle features Grid Control as well as design and maintain database architectural diagrams. Configure GoldenGate replication to keep Production and Disaster Recovery Database in-sync. Monitor cluster health, node status, and query performance; identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks; define backup and retention policies for historical data; and implement data archiving and deletion strategies. Monitor resource utilization and plan for capacity growth, add or remove nodes as needed to accommodate increased data volume or traffic. Identify and resolve database issues, errors, and failures, as well as analyze system logs and metrics to diagnose problems.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field and 4 years in any job title involving experience in multi-terabyte database installation and administration of Oracle OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) production databases. Prior experience must include: 3 years working in GoldenGate Replication; 3 years troubleshooting RMAN backup issues and performing database recoveries; 3 years of SQL and database performance tuning; 3 years working with OEM monitoring tool; 2 years of monitoring Linux operating systems from database perspective; and 2 years of change management and IT incident management.
