Job Title: Irrigation Technician
Position Summary:The Irrigation Technician is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining irrigation systems for commercial properties. This role also includes managing inventory of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure availability and functionality. The technician will work at a single educational or commercial site and must be capable of quoting and completing small to medium-sized repair jobs. Experience with 2-Wire Systems and cloud-based irrigation software is highly desirable.
Compensation: $20 - $25 Hourly
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.
- Company vehicle and expense card provided for work-related travel and purchases.
Minimum Qualifications: Education & Experience:- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–3 years of experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Experience with commercial irrigation systems and 2-Wire technology preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud-based irrigation control systems is a plus.
Technical Skills:- Ability to set and maintain irrigation controller schedules.
- Knowledge of 2-wire systems.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components of irrigation systems.
- Capable of mapping irrigation systems for master planning.
- Experience preparing irrigation audit reports.
Licensing & Physical Requirements:- Valid Florida Driver’s License – Required.
- Florida Irrigator License – Required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to excellent service.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:- Set and maintain irrigation controller schedules.
- Inspect properties to ensure proper irrigation coverage.
- Prepare and submit monthly irrigation audit reports.
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
- Map irrigation systems for master planning.
- Supervise subcontractor crews as needed.
- Quote and complete small to medium-sized repair jobs.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
