Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and safety-focused Journeyman Engineer to support daily operations at a high-profile facility. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. You’ll work closely with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure building infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently, while also collaborating with clients and vendors to address technical issues and maintain compliance with industry standards. This is a hands-on role requiring strong problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all company safety policies and regulatory compliance standards
- Operate and maintain mechanical systems including: HVAC equipment, engines, turbines, motors, pumps, air compressors, refrigerating machines, and fans
- Troubleshoot and repair a variety of building systems and equipment
- Analyze system performance and provide recommendations for improvements
- Collaborate with internal teams and external clients on maintenance strategies and technical challenges
- Support the development and execution of preventive maintenance programs
- Review and apply technical updates and service bulletins from equipment manufacturers
- Assist with implementing solutions, tracking project execution, and coordinating warranty claims
- Maintain accurate documentation related to maintenance, operations, and compliance
- Coordinate work activities to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency across departments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in building engineering, facilities maintenance, or related trade preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems
- Good communication skills — both verbal and written
- Ability to interpret technical documents and equipment manuals
- Union experience and relevant certifications a plus
