What does a successful Software Development Manager do at Fiserv?
A Software Development Manager in our Issuer Solutions department will lead their team to build innovative solutions in line with our commitment to providing transformative financial services. You will be responsible for services that deliver an exceptional customer experience, provide thought leadership in a fast-paced development environment, and partner with product management and senior leaders to ensure the success of this program.
What you will do:
- Lead a team of software developers to build, maintain, and enhance software applications
- Lead end to end architecture, design, implementation, support, and evaluation of technology focused tools and services
- Manage and oversee software releases, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
- Handle production incidents with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals with business objectives
- Manage project deliveries including cyber vulnerabilities, disaster recovery, tech refresh, and production management
- Evaluate complex business and technical requirements and communicate inherent risks and solutions to technical and non-technical business owners
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance
What you will need to have:
- 6+ years of experience in software development using Java/J2EE technologies such as Spring 6.0, Java 1.8, Spring Boot, Spring Microservices, Spring JPA, Spring Web flux, and Hibernate
- 4+ years of experience managing software releases, production incidents, and executing tech refreshes
- 4+ years of designing and architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 4+ years of technical lead or managerial experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience
What would be great to have:
- Prior experience with Agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Previous experience in financial services industry
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Technical certifications in related areas
