Job Description

The Refrigeration and Controls group at Johnson Controls is looking for an intern to join their team. This opening is at the Johnson Controls, Inc. Warren Johnson Engineering Lab in Glendale, Wisconsin.

How You Will Do It

The successful candidate will provide engineering assistance to support the design and manufacturing of thermostats, temperature controls, pressure controls, PCBA’s, valves and actuators. Work may include 3D CAD, engineering analysis, design for manufacturing, and calibrating control systems.

In addition to supporting local needs, interns participate in activities across the broader Johnson Controls network for skills training and compete in presentation events.

Duration: This will be a full-time undergraduate summer 2025 internship. Candidates may have the opportunity to work part-time during the semester as well. Prior interns are encouraged to apply to full-time positions as their graduation date approaches, and senior interns may receive post-graduation, full-time employment offer letters following exemplary summer internship.

Required Qualifications

What we look for:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at an ABET accredited U.S. college or university
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • Currently a junior or senior graduating in Dec 2025 or later
  • Must have CAD experience with 3D modeling, FEA a plus
  • US Citizen
  • Local candidates preferred; no relocation provided
