As a Professional Development Program Manager , you will shape learning experiences that build the soft skills critical to success—across all levels of individual contributors.
This role is focused on designing, launching, and managing enterprise-wide development programs that strengthen core capabilities like communication, collaboration, emotional intelligence, and presentation skills. You'll work closely with our centralized teams—Instructional Design, Facilitation, Digital Learning, HRBPs, and People Analytics—to ensure these programs are timely, relevant, and aligned with GM's evolving competencies and business needs.
If you're passionate about helping employees grow and creating learning programs that scale across a complex global organization, we’d love to have you on our team.
What You’ll Do:
Program Strategy & Design
- Build and manage professional development experiences that support ICs from onboarding to mastery.
- Translate GM’s competencies and employee feedback into relevant, scalable soft skill learning journeys.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Instructional Design, Digital Learning, Facilitation, HRBPs, and People Analytics to shape, evolve, and evaluate programs.
- Collaborate with SMEs and business partners to ensure content is practical and connected to real-world challenges.
Learning Development & Production
- Scope new programs and refresh existing ones by leveraging digital tools (Degreed, Cornerstone, Articulate, Synthesia) and in-house expertise.
- Ensure learning materials are modern, modular, and accessible across formats—live, digital, and self-directed.
Program Execution (in partnership)
- Partner with internal coordination support to ensure timely and seamless program rollout, including participant engagement, facilitator alignment, and communications.
- Monitor program milestones, ensure quality, and contribute to experience design without owning logistical delivery.
Measurement & Insights
- Define and track success metrics such as Net Promoter Score (NPS), program adoption, and behavior change.
- Use data and learner insights to refine programs and inform broader development strategies.
