The Role
We are looking for a high-performing Subsystem Lead Engineer (SSLE) to take on the responsibility of creating and maintaining camera-based viewing subsystem requirements in DNG and associated DFMEAs in FIT. The Viewing SSLE collaborates with other key stakeholders using standard collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira Align, Jira Cloud, MS Teams and Slack) in the process of defining, architecting, implementing and verifying subsystem solutions with all the required functionality comprehended. The Viewing SSLE is considered the expert of their subsystem’s functionality and performance as well as its failure modes, effects and design controls. The Viewing SSLE prevents issues by incorporating lessons learned into requirements and DFMEAs for all subsystem solutions (current and future) and when issues can’t be prevented, collaborate with other key stakeholders to troubleshoot, determine root cause, develop, implement and verify solutions to issues.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
The Sub-system Lead Engineer (SSLE) is considered the expert for the sub system requirements (functional and performance) and design, including troubleshooting and incorporating lessons learned into the requirements and DFMEAs for all applicable sub system solutions.
Partitioning product and feature requirements into sub-system functions that are allocated to implementation teams. Safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance are factors considered in sub system design with the goal of optimizing performance, testability, and deployment.
Identify use cases, define functional and performance requirements, enable robust sub system solutions, and ensure built-in quality with test definition and traceability.
Write and maintain sub system requirements DFMEA, owner's manual templates, and calibration ruleset.
Define high-level architectural designs for sub system solutions implemented by the Viewing Processing Engine software.
Drive alignment with Software/System Architects and sub/System Engineering teams, ensure all applicable features/functions are comprehended
Work with the Product and Program Managers and operate within an economic framework to analyze the impact of design decisions and help plan both business and enabler work.
Break large architectural initiatives into features and stories that can be executed in the 2-week sprint increments and maintain them in Jira
Provide software and software architecture support and guidance to the Agile ART teams throughout the sprints.
Work with DevQA and development testing teams to define E2E Viewing test cases for current and future compute architecture
Comprehend Business or product Epics and support Epic Analysis process.
Improve the systems engineering and architecture knowledge of the team.
Troubleshoot, analyze and support Viewing sub system related issues found on vehicles
