What does a successful Principal Cloud Engineer (AWS) do at Fiserv?
You will design, implement, manage, secure, scalable, and reliable cloud landing zone/foundations. You will lead the design and implementation of key areas related to cloud including IAM, Hybrid DNS, centralized logging, account factory, network topology and more.
What you will do:
- Design and develop automated solutions (via API and Self-service) for cloud-based infrastructure and controls
- Create scripts and code to provision, configure, and manage cloud resources and guardrails
- Collaborate with Cyber security and compliance teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance requirements are met
- Lead complex initiatives, issues, and projects to improve the cloud platform by working with multiple cross-functional teams
- Work closely with application development teams and influence improvements elated to performance, architecture, design, and resiliency
- Coach and mentor technical colleagues on best practices in the public cloud
- Recommend strategies for improving the process, monitoring, and alerting of Cloud infrastructure environments
- Provision cloud resources via Infrastructure as a Code tools like Cloud Formation or Hashicorp Terraform
What you will need to have:
- 6+ years of total Engineering, Cloud operation, DevOps, Production support and Administration or similar experience
- 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP and Azure Cloud providers, as well as concepts, topologies, and service models (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS, CaaS & FaaS)
- 3+ years of experience working with ECS, EKS, ELB, EC2, Route 53, S3, Lambda, ACM, VPC, RDS and IAM services in the AWS Cloud environment
- 3+ years of experience provisioning cloud resources via Infrastructure as a Code tools like Cloud Formation or Hashicorp Terraform
- 3+ years of experience with writing scripts on Shell or Python scripting languages to automate software builds and config management
- 3+ years of experience with log collection tools and analysis like Splunk, as well as infrastructure performance monitoring tools and optimization practices like App Dynamics and Dynatrace
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience
What would be great to have:
- Experience working with Active Directory, Virtual Machines, Block Blob, Container, Kubernetes, Functions, VNet, SQL and Traffic Manager services in the Azure Cloud environment
- Experience working with Containerization Docker/Kubernetes and Apache Kafka
- Experience with relational and NoSQL database and its related technologies (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, Redis, Memcached, MongoDB)
- Experience working with CI and CD tools like Code Commit, Code Deploy, Code Pipeline, Code Build, GitLab, Jenkins, and Harness
- Solid understanding of basic internet principles such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, Networking, Load Balancing, etc
