What does a great Mainframe Test Engineer do at Fiserv?
As a successful Mainframe Test Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the test team by managing the test environments for mainframe and other applications. Test environment management includes: Test abend problem research & resolution, environment maintenance, test data mining, sanitizing and provisioning, batch cycle execution and test process automation.
What you will do:
- Assist test teams and clients by executing comprehensive test plans and test cases for mainframe applications.
- Identify, document, and track defects and inconsistencies, working closely with developers to resolve issues.
- Perform testing activities to support the client acceptance testing and in house testing teams.
- Data provisioning to load for client test cases.
- Analyze test results and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
What you will need to have:
- US citizenship capable of obtaining security clearance with the Federal Government.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.
- 2+ years of experience in mainframe quality assurance
- 2+ years of experience JCL, /PROCS, Filemaster, DB2, SQL, and CICS.
- 2+ years of related technical or software testing experience.
What would be great to have:
- 2+ years of experience in testing financial software applications.
- 3+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
- 3+ years of experience working with Syncsort, Cobol, OPTIM, DB2, CICS, ESP, Endevor, MS Office Suite, CLIST, REXX, TOAD, or ODBC knowledge.
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
